Kaïro’s French-style raggae

Ismaël Jolé-Ménébhi was born in Paris on February 5, 1978, to a Moroccan father and an Alsatian mother.
Thirty years later, having become Taïro, he dedicated the title Mama to her on his first album. Taïro first started in the cinema in 1991, the year he won the leading role in the film Young Werther by Jacques Doillon. While he listens to toasters chanting their texts to the sounds of decibels spewed by their soundsystem, Taïro sees himself instinctively and artistically in their place. In 1993, he created his music group, Youthmen Ten. It was at this time that he chose the pseudonym “Taïro” (“Tyro”) which means “novice” or “beginner” in English. During the mid-1990s, Taïro and his collective stood out in their first sound systems. In 1996, he appeared, under the pseudonym Wicked Dread, featuring with Apollo G on the title Quel F*cky by the group Section Fu, an extract from the Mortal Kombat EP. In the early 2000s, The Youthmen Ten broke up. On November 23, 2013, he performed at the Olympia to present his album Thus be it, accompanied among others by Tiwony, Merlot and the rapper Youssoupha
