CASTELAIN, the blues of Pas de Calais
Jean-Pierre Castelain, born December 20, 1946 in Arques (Pas-de-Calais), is a French musician, singer-songwriter,
guitarist, multi-instrumentalist, musical arranger and artistic director. Passionate about guitar, very fashionable in the 1960s,
Jean-Pierre Castelain, solo guitarist, will tour the groups of the north. Firstly within the YEOMEN, then the BOURGEOIS of CALAIS.
Retaining the majority of the group’s personnel, they went to Paris in 1968 to create the group LES FLEURS DE PAVOT,
authors of what would be considered the first French psychedelic/flower power music record.
Little success, and it will be the beginning of the solo career. First of all a 45 rpm from VOGUE,
close to the style of Ronnie BIRD, a flop! Serving French music, he has composed and arranged for other artists,
notably Françoise Hardy, France Gall, Michel Berger, Jeanne-Marie Sens, Maxime Piolot.
